Julie
Each month, one of our glorious Happi Citizens shares with us their tips & techniques for maintaining a happi mind.
This month, Julie from Beautiful You shares her experiences.

A huge welcome to The Happi Empire, Julie! Whilst here in The Happi Empire, know that your dreams are totally possible, you are loved for just being you, and you are just where you are meant to be 🙂

Q1. What are your top 3 tips for maintaining a happi mind?

  1. Concern yourself only with what is in your control.  For everything else…let it flow and be.
  2. Don’t compare any part of your life (your body, bank account, career etc) to anyone elses.  You are incomparable and utterly unique.  Embrace it.
  3. Be mindful of everything you ingest – magazines, books, media, information, conversations and choose only to let in those things that are positive, uplifting and can help you grow.

Q2. How do you integrate these happy tips into your daily life?

I choose to surround myself with positivity in all aspects of my life; the company I keep, the books I read and the media I consume.  All of this contributes to me being as happi as I can be day to day and if not having such a happi day, knowing I can bounce back from that because of all the love and positive light around me.  I have also come to be at peace with fully knowing I cannot control what others think of me and so I do things only to please me and not others.

Q3. What advice can you offer citizens that are going through tough times?

Treat yourself with radical self care and kindness.  You are truly stronger than you think you are and by refusing to beat yourself up and listening to what your heart and soul really needs you will find your way back to your full and vibrant self.  This may mean you need to cry, run, cook, talk, meditate or seek help.  You will know.

Q4. And finally, what dream are you creating this year for your beautiful self?

I am constantly dreaming and creating (!) but 2012 I am claiming as my ‘Book Year.’  I have my first book being published which is exciting, scary, challenging and thrilling all at the same time.  It’s a ‘dream come true’ event for me and makes me think about how blessed I am from the time I first said as a young girl, passionate about books and reading, that I wanted to be an author.

Thank you for sharing your tips with us Julie! <3
